چکیده
The goal of the current investigation was to determine correlation coefficient, path analysis and genetic variability among twenty four maize hybrids for ten characters in a Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications at research field Plant Breeding Division, Regional Agricultural Research Station, Barisal, Bangladesh Institute (BARI), during rabi season 2014-15.
measured traits were Days 50% tasseling (DT), days silking (DS), anthesis interval (ASI), plant height (PH), ear (EH), maturity (DM), cob length (CL), diameter (CD), thousand seed weight (TSW) yield(yield t/ha). Here yield considered as dependent variable rest parameters independent variable. data submitted variance mean values compared by DMRT test both 5% 1% probability. Positive significant genotypic, phenotypic coefficient recorded (rg=0.75**, rp=0.61**), (rg=0.66**and rp=0.42**), (rg=0.62**and rp=0.55**), rp=0.55**) (rg=0.36**and rp=0.44**). High genotypic variation (GCV) obtained from (17.26), (15.17), (13.80) (9.43). highest (PCV) observed (26.49) followed (20.51), (16.19) lowest (0.70). difference between GCV PCV indicated that had some environmental influence. heritability (73.78) (72.67), (59.52) (55.97) but identified (18.98). higher aforementioned indicative selection. positive direct effect (1.34) on (0.75), CD (0.46) (0.41), (0.21) (0.20) indicating effectiveness Direct negative shown (-1.03), (-0.52) (-0.50) indirect

Maize (Zea mays L.).
Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation is an effective method for introducing genes into maize. In this chapter, we describe a detailed protocol for genetic transformation of the maize genotype Hi II. Our starting plant material is immature embryos cocultivated with an Agrobacterium strain carrying a standard binary vector. In addition to step-by-step laboratory transformation proced...
متن کاملGenetic Diversity in Maize (Zea mays L.) Inbred Lines
Thirty yellow inbred lines of normal maize were evaluated for thirteen parameters at the experimental field of Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University during 2010-11 to study the genetic divergence using multivariate analysis. The thirty inbreds fell into six distinct clusters. The intra-cluster distances in all the six clusters were more or less low, indicating that the genotyp...
متن کاملAssociation Mapping for Enhancing Maize (Zea mays L.) Genetic Improvement
Association mapping through linkage disequilibrium (LD) analysis is a powerful tool for the dissection of complex agronomic traits and for the identifi cation of alleles that can contribute to the enhancement of a target trait. With the developments of high throughput genotyping techniques and advanced statistical approaches as well as the assembling and characterization of multiple association...
متن کاملGenetic Analysis for Yield Potential and Quality Traits in Maize (Zea mays L.)
Abstract: Grain yield is a complex phenomenon which results from the interaction of various contributing factors highly influenced by environmental variation. Phenotypic selection cannot directly improve the characters in heterozygous crops like maize unless dissected by genetic analysis. Gene action for various quantitative and qualitative traits was explored in a complete set of diallel invol...
متن کاملCOMBINING ABILITY AND HETEROSIS IN MAIZE (Zea mays L.)
A line × tester analysis was conducted in maize involving 12 lines and 3 testers for grain yield and its components to determine the heterosis as well as general combining ability (GCA) and specific combining ability (SCA) effects. Highly significant genotypic differences were observed indicated wide range of variability present among the genotypes. GCA and SCA variance for yield per plant numb...
